I applaud Blur for having the guts to do an anti-reunion album. The Magic Whip sounds like Blur in 2015 just as it should. No apologies, and no nostalgia.
Alabama Shakes has effectively created a record in Sound and Color, in which they are in charge of from beginning to end, giving in only when they see fit.
