The Crushed Monocle Podcast is a show where Coop and site owner, Jon, talk about stuff, All the stuff! Music, movies, shows, records, whatever. It could literally be anything but there are a few constants: They will mispronounce names, roll their eyes at Dave Grohl, and profess their love for Paul Verhoeven’s 1995 cinematic masterpiece, Showgirls. This is the Crushed Monocle Podcast: Episode 7 – The One With Kellii Scott of Failure!
As 1/3 of the space-rock outfit Failure, Kellii Scott’s bombastic drum kit has been a vital element to the band’s legendary status. When the band called it quits in 1997, he became a much sought-after session and touring drummer for countless projects including Veruca Salt, Dr. Dre, Christina Aguilera, Courtney Love, and many many more.
When the band reunited in 2014, Kellii Scott’s meticulous work ethic and other-worldly talent, helped Failure soar to even new heights!
Now upon the release of Failure’s third post-reunion record, Wild Type Droid (BGM’s 2021 record of the year), and possible 2022 tour, Kellii Scott decided to jump on the Crushed Monocle Podcast to catch up with Coop and Jon! Among the topics of discussion, but not limited to:
