The Bearded Gentlemen First of The Month Podcast has been rebooted. And just like all those reboots you didn’t ask for, we’re turning it into something barely recognizable! The role of ghost host will now be played by me, Coop! The co-host will still be played none other than site owner, Jon Robertson. We’re also changing the name of it to The Crushed Monocle Podcast too. If that doesn’t scare you, then BEHOLD The Spooky Month Spectacular!
To celebrate the greatest season of the year, Jon and I are joined by a very special guest. Actor, writer, and director of the neon-covered, blood-soaked, rock n’ roll flavored Death Drop Gorgeous, Brandon Perras!
While Death Drop Gorgeous may be an LGBTQ-positive slasher extravaganza, the rest of the horror scene might be in danger of becoming a superficially rotten corpse. But just like your parents finding PCP and Molly in your Tick Or Treat haul, we also talk about a wide variety of topics for your ghoulish pleasure. Such as:
- Nick Cage’s 8mm is a sleazy unsung masterpiece
- Rob Zombie missed the mark with Halloween but looked cool doing it

Most importantly, we share some of our opinions on why supporting indie filmmaking is more important now than ever.
Unless you’re filthy rich (or have Dave Grohl narcism), you’re just not getting your film out there. Creators are pouring their hearts and souls into projects in an industry where the odds are stacked against them. This is why we really need to support indie filmmaking, indie music, indie everything. If we consume it, we should have no problem encouraging others to do the same. It just might be the only marketing push they’ll get.
