BROCKHAMPTON | grim, grit, and grimace

BROCKHAMPTON is a mix of Back Street Boys and kids pop. They have become a billboard top 200 act proving that RCA records put together an ensemble that gets the grim, grit, and grimace. BROCKHAMPTON does everyone justice as they take on the artistry that mixes genres making sure to soothe the taste buds.

BROCKHAMPTON has been on my playlist for a while but always seems to get the listen over the skip.

However, there are many things wrong with the group, but let’s see what they got right. Their influence begins with Outcast, Wu-Tang Clan, and Cisco. With Saturation III the band has their voice in front-man Kevin Abstract and as a group, they do not fear to dream. “Faces” is the love boat dream on Saturation III that’s not just the morning dew of last night’s cold sweat.

Late on the scene in 2015 BROCKHAMPTON got their notoriety from songs like “Bleach” that asks the questions of who we are and what it means to be an imposter? BROCKHAMPTON’s lyricism continues to challenge modern day digital media.

BROCKHAMPTON overall is good, loud, but also grungey and raunchy. They are making their way in the industry and it seems like they will always be looking to test their boundaries. Let’s just see what elements they add next as they progress.
