Man Made Project

New Jams: Man Made

Man Made band LiveMan Made are the perfect slice of dreamy indie pop, calm vocals layered over solid drums and jangling guitars. Hailing from Manchester, England, lead singer Nile Marr, always donning a gold jacket for live gigs,  gives you a grungier guitar sound evident on track “TV Broke My Brain” (shown in video below). Taking their inspiration from the vast canon of music to have come from their hometown, Man Made have been at the forefront of all that is good with the local scene.

Man Made bandPlaying various venues in and around Manchester including a summer residency at the Night and Day Cafe, has seen Man Made’s following grow over the last few months. Marr, being the son of the legend that is Johnny Marr (of The Smiths) must not be easy with the constant expectations and comparisons, but he has proved himself as an accomplished frontman and someone who will be around the music industry for a long while.

Just this week on November 6th, Man Made played a storming set at an NME gig @ The Deaf Institute, Manchester, having already supported Jake Bugg this year too and been on the bill at Reading and Leeds festival in August. All this bodes well for the time when Man Made will be nearer to the top of bill and the bigger stage.

Man Made have become my blog’s (MIMR) favourite band over the last few months and I’ve even been luckily enough been able to chat with Marr a few times. Man Made have a great stage presence and varied array of songs in their set that make them a band to watch in 2015. With no plans to make a record quite yet, it will only be matter of time before more people stand up and take notice of a band that deserve to succeed not just in U.K., but further afield too.
