Well, Skin Graft and co are releasing a compilation at the end of the month with a lot of newcomers and old friends. It’s called Sounds To Make You Shudder and it looks a little something like this-
David Yow and Yowie start the haunt with Yowie doing what they do best- scrambling your brain with noodley, frenetic, weird rock. Meanwhile, Yow narrates a little unhinged Halloween ditty for ya
USA Nails are an exciting newcomer to the label playing you some scuzzy noise rock. Personally, I love how this track just descends into creepsville. See our video premiere here.
Lovely Little Girls deliver witchery with a jazzy and snazzy little incantation that’s as catchy as it is uncomfortable.
This Terms track is a dizzying shred-fest. I feel drunk now.
Tijuana Hercules is proof that horns won’t tank a rock band. Additionally, the overflowing swagger of this band is admirable.
Pili Coit brings some folk horror to the comp- this is probably what Edward Woodward heard while being burned alive inside the Wickerman.
Psychic Graveyard gives you a track that sounds like a complete cybernetic mental breakdown. Skynet is finally here and I am ready.
Jim O Rourke sneaks up in here like an insidious ghost that slowly starts pulling the covers off of you and moving furniture in your room. Something is trying to make contact with you from the other side!
Cuntroaches, can’t live with em’ but can’t live without em! Satanic hyper-sludge trying to pull you through your speakers as Freddy Kreuger did with Johnny Depp in that bed!
Strangulated Beatoffs with some undead acapella. Bravo for the most disturbing track on the comp but from you all, I am not surprised.
Shatter On Impact, ever go bobbing for apples in cough syrup on some psychedelics? No? Well, now you don’t have to.
Bobby Conn and Superband remind you to not be afraid in this haunted castle of a track.
Flying Luttenbachers are comin’ for ya and it ain’t going to be pretty! Easily the bloodiest track on the comp for sure.
Upright Forms raucous noise punk with some organ! You don’t hear stuff like this often.
Azita unravels the cosmos right before your ears! Yeah, some outer-dimensional demons snuck through but it’s worth the listen.
If you are looking for some new music, every band on this comp (and on Skin Graft) has a whole library of some of the most unique music you’ve ever heard. Mark has been collecting these mutants since 1990 and is still going strong. Get a copy of this comp and creep yourself out!
