The Bearded Gentlemen First of The Month Podcast has been successfully rebooted! And just like all those remakes you didn’t ask for, we’ve turned it into something barely recognizable! The role of host will now be played by me, Coop! The co-host with the most will still be played by none other than site owner, Jon Robertson. We’ve also changed the name of it to The Crushed Monocle Podcast! This is episode 5 –The Urine Soaked Toxic Waltz.
As Thanksgiving season is upon us, Jon and I are thankful November is an extra month to tie up the loose ends of October. A season we are now calling Halloween 2. (Not to be confused with the movies of the same name).
While we may be done with horror movies, for the time being, Jon and I do discuss some fringe movies we caught over the past couple of weeks. Which include Shang Chi, The Eternals, 13 Fan Boy, and some pretentious multi-million dollar puff piece known as Dune! Other topics discussed but not limited to are:
- Why Halloween II is a terrible movie
- Basic Instinct is the second most important movie for Jon
- Mastodon isn’t really capable of making a double album
- How I’m trying to secure a date with Megan Thee Stallion
- It’s Exodus for the rest of us
Most importantly, we share some of our opinions on why proper etiquette at shows is crucial even during a Toxic Waltz.
Despite getting punched in the head, having an ear ripped off, or getting soaked in a GWAR amount of urine sounds fun, concerts can be dangerous. With the tragic events unfolding at Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival, now is the time we explore what we can do to ensure seeing our favorite artists in a living setting can be safe. It might be easy to pin the blame of the tragedy on the venue, artist, or audience, but there’s a little bit more to it than that. We all want to have fun but no one wants to lose their life to a show.
